A leading manufacturer of vertical conveyor systems is looking for their next Field Service Manager. This is a direct hire opportunity located in the Milwaukee WI area.

This person will be responsible for responding to incoming calls from Field Service Technicians, customers, end-users, architects, dealers and Installers for technical support and troubleshooting of all Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor (VRC) and Cartveyor product lines. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience with programming and troubleshooting PLC's within an industrial environment.

Substantial overtime opportunities are provided with this role.

This position requires travel up to 45% of the time, will be home on weekends.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or trade in Electronic, Hydraulic or Mechanical Technology
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting
  • VFD experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical product support in a manufacturing environment

responsibilities:
  • Receives and responds to incoming calls from Field Service Technicians, Customers, End-Users, Architects, Dealers and Installers for technical support and troubleshooting of all products, recommending upgrades when needed
  • Travels to customer locations to oversee and assist with installation, start-up and service processes, as needed, to ensure safe and accurate installation and operation of all VRC equipment on time and in accordance with company procedures, policies, customer requirements, State and Federal codes, rules and regulations
  • Communicates installation, start-up and service information in a clear, concise, courteous and professional manner ensuring that all instructions are followed correctly and in accordance with company procedures
  • Provides high-level telephone and on-site trouble-shooting assistance and training to Customer Support Representatives, Field Service Technicians and Installers on all Electro-Mechanical subjects
  • Provides technical expertise to Customer Support Team
  • Partners with Engineering to resolve complex issues whether in product development or in the field
  • Provides timely and accurate customer feedback to relevant internal customers
  • Programs PLCs and VFDs and performs revisions on existing programs
  • Uses remote access devices to troubleshoot equipment and direct repair activities by phone or video
  • Performs testing of motors and controls prior to shipping as needed
  • Develops materials for and conducts Service and Sales Training Schools for internal and external customers on installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all VRC equipment
