LISSMAC Corporation is a German manufacturer and distributor of sheet metal processing machinery in the US. Our core competency is the development and distribution of innovative equipment for metal processing. The company has around 400 employees worldwide with their US Headquarters near Albany, NY.
Job Description
We are actively in search of a Field Service Technician who will install and service our sheet metal processing machinery at client sites across the US, Canada, and occasionally South America. This role also requires technical customer support and management of our show room and parts stock room when not traveling. We are looking for sharp, capable, and energetic team member with a solid mechanical and electrical understanding and the ability to troubleshoot.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Good understanding of machine mechanics and electronics.
- Able to work out of our Mechanicville, NY location
- Must be able to travel throughout US on a regular basis with occasional travel to Canada and South America (80% travel)
- Valid US driver’s license
- Computer skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to operate a forklift (will train if necessary)
- Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs
Duties and responsibilities:
- Service and repair of our full line of machines (will train thoroughly) both in-house and on-site at customer’s locations throughout North and South America
- Installation and commissioning of new machines at customer’s sites
- Travel to customers’ sites for repairs, machine maintenance, and operator training
- Telephone support, customer care and technical help desk for existing customer base
- Processing of spare parts orders: from acceptance of order to packing, shipment and tracking
- Loading and unloading of machine and spare parts shipments when in house
- Manage incoming spare parts orders and keep stock room clean and organized
- Process customer sample parts and write processing reports
- Help with all other service, stock room, sales related, and office duties as necessary
Personal profile:
- Have analytical cognitive capability for machine troubleshooting and de-bugging
- Must be able to work both in a collaborative environment and autonomously
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to handle stressful situations and "get the job done"
- Good communicator with professional demeanor; sole LISSMAC representative interfacing with customers when on-site
- Trustworthy and punctual
- Spanish Language proficiency is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
