Job Title: Finance Analyst

Reports to: Director – Head of Finance Ireland
Overall Purpose of Role
The Financial Analyst, based in the Dublin office, will assist in the monitoring and oversight of the Financial Reporting requirements across various European based fund structures, ensuring the various deadlines and requirements for the financial reports are met in a timely and efficient manner. The candidate will report into the Head of Finance in Ireland.
Principal Responsibilities
Key tasks
- Ensure smooth running of the various funds financial reporting requirements in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist in planning of year-end audit and interim account preparation, with prioritisation of work in order to meet the various deadlines
- Review annual and interim financial statements, providing review comments to third party administrators
- Perform analytical review on annual and interim financial statements, liaising with third party administrators and internal operations to bring to conclusion.
- Understand, interpret and apply relevant financial reporting standards and regulations across the funds ranges
- Build a relationship with external third parties (including administrators and respective audit firms)
- Build a relationship with the different internal stakeholders responsible for aspects of the financial statements
- Liaise internally and prepare data needed for financial reports disclosures
- Understanding of fund documentation including prospectus and other third party agreements etc.
- Responding and resolving audit queries in a timely fashion
- Liaise with Structuring & Investment teams on investment and fund queries.
- Prepare and take ownership for regulatory returns with the Central Bank of Ireland.
- Assist with ad hoc information requests and data flows such as performance calculations, OCF and holdings data.

- Advanced Excel
- Working commercial knowledge of various fund structures (including UK OEICs and Unit Trusts, Irish plcs and Unit Trusts, and Lux Sarls and SCSp; across both UCITS and AIFs)
- Good knowledge of financial reporting standards (FRS 102 and IFRS), UCITS regulations and AIF Rulebook.
- Ability to embrace change and help identify efficiencies on process to the benefit of wider teams
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key internal Barings stakeholders including other business lines and corporate functions across the organisation.
- Proactive and ability to work with minimum supervision (post training).
- Clear communicator, both verbally and written for both internal audiences and external clients.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and flexible to meet workload;
- Numerate with high attention to detail, accounting experience required.
Experience
- Experience of having worked on multiple audits across various timelines
- Experience of working in fund management (multiple asset classes, including private and alternative asset classes)
- Experience of UK OEICS and Unit Trusts and Lux Sarls and SCSp
- Experience of financial reporting
