Financial Analyst

For over 40 years, Hoffmann Brothers has served as the premier HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Appliance Repair service and installation contractor in the St. Louis area. As the Financial Analyst you will help Hoffmann Brothers strengthen our understanding of various areas of the business through improved analysis and oversight. This is a new position within our company, and we are excited about the value this team member will be able to unlock. This person will have a unique opportunity to learn how our business operates and to help our functional leaders understand the tools we can use to improve operating and financial results. This role’s functions will be split into the following categories:


  • Develop and execute Business Performance Reporting that serves all levels of the organization (new initiative as we transition from Successware to ServiceTitan in January 2023)
    • Executive Leadership Team
      • Provide monthly financial review packets with forward looking insight into business performance
      • Develop financial return and ratios metrics to measure performance
      • Oversight and evaluation of overhead cost allocations and potential savings
      • Partner with the warehouse to understand material pricing trends and determine appropriate vendor spend distribution
    • Department leaders
      • Increase ownership of monthly financial results through education and analysis
      • Function as a strategic business partner, enabler, and a problem solver of strategic issues
      • Support departments with their pricing and profitability objectives
      • Benchmark results to peers
      • Evaluate profitability of all job types
    • Front line leaders
      • Enhance technician KPI tracking and provide actionable coaching insights to improve front line performance
  • Lead ad-hoc financial projects as assigned
  • Become resident expert at data reporting from our software
  • Coordinate cross-functional data needs between the accounting, HR, and operations teams
  • Deliver data driven recommendations
  • Accelerate the effort to automate and enhance the presentation for various reporting areas

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or similar field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Business Analyst / Consulting / Finance or related role
  • Advanced Excel experience is required
  • Experience with Power BI preferred
  • Experience with ServiceTitan and/or Sage Intacct is a plus
  • Relationship builder with peers
