Velocity Truck Centers is seeking an entry-level financial analyst who has a strong desire to participate in our company’s rapid growth. Ongoing job responsibilities will include operational analytics, financial analysis, budgeting and planning, and creation and presentation of financial statements and reports. The Financial Analyst helps support decision-making by analyzing financial outcomes, managing budgets, and reporting monthly results. The Analyst will work closely with financial and operational teams across the organization to expand and build businesses. This position will be fully remote.

Responsibilities for Financial Analyst

Produce monthly Excel financial report packets for management, as needed or requested, including income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets
Present financial models and reports to management on major financial issues/risks

Supporting financial planning and modeling in Excel
Analyze large amounts of data using Microsoft Excel
Work closely with members of business units
Support the analysis of financial information
Prepare Operational Analytics

Track and analyze performance of key initiatives
Work closely with sales team to provide weekly and monthly analysis
Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned
Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement

Required Skills

Able to work autonomously with a sense of accuracy and urgency
Soft skills – Work cross functionally, establish vision, build alignment on approach, incorporate feedback being able to tell a story
Fluent with financial planning software programs, such as Excel, SQL, PowerBI; ability to prepare financial statements and create financial models for budgeting and risk analysis
Good problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills; ability to make clear, persuasive presentations to management, clients, or other stakeholders
Ability to recognize potential financial problems, engage in strategic planning and analysis of financial resources, markets, and products, assist management in making sound, profitable financial decisions

Qualifications for Financial Analyst

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, business administration, or equivalent
2+ years of related work experience
Financial analysis and financial modeling experience (preferred)
Experience in preparing standard financial statements (preferred)

Data Analytics as part of a small team (not individual contributor),
Advanced-level competencies across problem-solving skills, appetite for business impact and execution
Proficient with Excel modeling, Microsoft Excel (Required)
SQL (Preferred)
PowerBI (Preferred)
