The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for the position of Financial Operations Generalist 1 as Leave Keeper. Performs accounting and fiscal control functions, such as general accounts payable and receivable, payroll preparation, travel preparation, and other related processes. Provides customer service and technical program support to the field as related to DFCS financial functions. This position is in Gordon County, Georgia.JOIN OUR TEAM!!!

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Pay Grade: GUnder direct supervision, performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control functions, such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll preparation, budget monitoring or related general accounting processes.Role and Responsibilities: Daily send emails to staff needing to complete their time sheets or submit a time sheet.Assist employees with their first/last time sheets to prevent errors.Enter/Correct time sheets or staff when they are out for extended time periods.Disapprove time sheet as needed, due to errors.Update employees’ Supervisors as needed due to move in direct reports.Work on leave reports, LWOP reports, FLSA reports, and post semi-monthly leave.Assist payroll with OT, FLSA, and Comp Time. Prepare documents for terminated/transferring.Employees. Track FML employees and donated leave.Assist other staff with General Ledger, Travel and Clerk duties, as needed.Core Competences: Strong Microsoft Office Skills, specifically Word and Excel.Efficient Data Processing skills.Self-starter who desires to develop his/her talent and advance within the organization.Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to solve problems and think outside the box.Must be a Team Player.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in a business curriculum or related field from an accredited college or university.ORHigh school diploma or GED AND Two (2) years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions.Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience: Basic accounting skills with understanding of payroll and time sheets.Verify calculations and other information. Record expenditures in databases. Correctly alphabetize large volumes of data.Correctly file large volumes in numerical sequence.Ability to multi-task.
