Job Purpose:

The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst is responsible for supporting all functional areas of the Company, including Retail Operations, Fuel Operations, Human Resources, Corporate Development through the production of meaningful data and insights. This position will work with the Finance & Accounting team to establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of designated systems, processes and data and participate in monthly accounting close process. The role will have a high level of exposure to senior management as will be required to collaborate with all functional groups in the business.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Partner with leaders in all functional areas of the business (Retail Operations, Fuel Operations, Human Resources, Corporate Development) to provide data, analysis, and insights to assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the business.
  • Support the Finance Manager in the development and build-out of the Data Warehouse. Responsibilities will include;
    • Meeting with functional leaders to determine the scope of information needs
    • Design and coding of new content, and its distribution
    • Review of existing library of reports, and assessment on-going value
  • Provide transaction support for acquisition, and divestitures of existing businesses, and real estate opportunities. Maintain, and update modeling templates as appropriate.

  • Support the maintenance, and development of various batch processes, and interfaces, including;

    • Creating and maintaining documentation of existing batch processes

    • User support for the enhancement of existing processes, and development of new processes.

  • Assistance with the production and publication of monthly reporting packages for various business lines.

  • Provide month end close support, including;
    • Variance analysis compared to budget and prior year
    • Reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts as assigned.
  • Actively participate in weekly Finance and Accounting staff meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related experience required.
  • 1-3 year of experience as a Financial Analyst
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles; Experience with retail accounting preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Must have high integrity and adaptability
  • Strong Excel and computer skills
  • Familiarity with PowerBI, Tableau, Targit, or other data visualization software
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information, investment decisions, or any other tasks assigned by the organization.
