Financial Services Coordinator
Job description
Serves as a financial resource for UICA staff and UI campus clients. This position supports areas of main campus or health sciences development as needed. Provides a high level of financial stewardship through reviews and management of donor funds and assisting with financial projects.
- Position allows for telecommuting/work from home (up to 5 days per week depending upon business need and leader approval). Candidate must be within driving distance of office located in Iowa City, IA.
- Serves as the primary advisor to a subset of fundraising units regarding financial accountability of donor funds; works directly with UICA staff and UI campus clients to ensure funds are utilized in accordance with donor intent
- Performs initial review of all Statements of Gift Intent for assigned constituent areas
- Reviews and finalizes the establishment of new donor funds
- Assists Financial Services Manager with reporting requests and maintenance of donor fund information in the financial software
- Assists Financial Services Administrators with necessary financial activities and special projects related to the administration of donor funds
- Monitors donor funds for spending and appropriate use; conducts fund review meetings at the college, department, and area levels as requested to review fund balances and develop spending plans; ensures spending information is received from units and shared with stewardship team for annual reporting to donors
- Conducts fund research and analysis and makes recommendations for donor fund usage; develops documentation for review by compliance committee at the request of donors, campus clients, or UICA staff; resolves issues with donor funds at the request of donors, campus clients, or other members of the Financial Services Team
- May provide back-up support to Accounts Payable team as needed
Education & Experience: HS diploma + 6 years experience, OR associate’s degree + 4 years experience, OR bachelor’s degree + 2 years experience
