POSITION: FISCAL SUPERVISOR

PURPOSE: Supervise the fiscal department of the Private Industry Council.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field

Experience: 4 year’s work experience in accounting, preferably fund accounting with 2 years in supervisory role.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: a. Ability to apply independent judgment. b. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. c. Ability to achieve goals with little supervision. d. Ability to motivate and supervise others. e. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality. f. Detail oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. g. Effective oral and written communication skills. h. Extensive computer knowledge and skills. i. Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple tasks and deadlines.

REPORTS TO: Controller

SUPERVISES: Accountants

JOB REQUIREMENTS and ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES to be performed with or without reasonable

Mental Concentration: Considerable concentration

Interruptions: Occur frequently

Physical Efforts: Light physical effort in a predominately sitting position

Special Demands: Potential eye strain and occasional travel required. Valid driver’s license, verification of car insurance coverage, as well as reliable transportation (validated yearly minimum).

Duties may include any or all of the following: This list is intended to be representative.

01. Supervise fiscal department staff

02. Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the Uniform Guidance

03. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fiscal department

04. Responsible for the operation of all accounting systems and records

05. Provide guidance and training to fiscal staff

06. Learn and evaluate all fiscal processes within the department

07. Make recommendations to Controller about job assignments and duties of fiscal department staff

08. Resolve conflicts and complaints

09. Attend meetings and seminars as a representative of the corporation

10. Prepare reports as needed

11. Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings

12. Complete forms, time cards, and other paperwork as required

13. Assist in research, special projects or assignments as directed
