Job Description:

PSCV Flight Test is looking for enthusiastic candidate to fill the Flight Test Engineering Military In-House planning role. This position will be based in East Hartford, CT and will require some travel to support the onsite teams at PAX and Edwards AFB. In this position, you will work to support the on-site flight test leads and the in-house flight test manager. Frequent communication with the on-site Flight Test Teams and all in-house support teams will be required. You should be knowledgeable in engine test, engine maintenance protocol, engine assembly, and have good communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the creation and update of requirements documents (Flight Test Letters) to ensure all key items are documented per standard work.
  • Coordinate flight test requirements including any updated restrictions, limits, or inspections that must be followed during flight test.
  • Lead meetings to help address issues / questions / challenges.
  • Lead key tasks to ensure clear moving forward plans are established and maintained for the campaign. Encourage and follow flight safety protocols. Assist in troubleshooting flight squawks, and ground test operations, as required.
  • Support technical engineering coordination meetings (SIPT) to understand potential new requirements & provide feedback as required.
  • Ability to obtain and retain special project access.
  • Work towards meet customer requirements and prevent any delay, while maintaining the highest quality of work
  • Ability to work modified shift schedule & weekend work as required
  • Primary assignments will support the F135 program however the candidate may be asked to support commercial or other military programs in a surge/backup capacity if business needs require it.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering or 3+ years with an advance degree
  • US Citizenship due to government contract
  • Security clearance or the ability to obtain one

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to work well with various groups within P&W and the customer
  • Previous experience with assembly/repair, test and flight test processes, procedures & engineering documentation
  • Prior flight test experience with both military and commercial programs (onsite and/or in-house)
  • Active Security Clearance
