The Food Service Assistant is responsible for assisting in all food preparation and supporting kitchen operations within CTI’s Child and Family Services Division

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Assist in preparation of snacks and meals for centers, satellite sites and meetings as needed.
  • Communicate with School Age program to coordinate meal and supply pick-up.
  • Support satellite kitchen at off site location - LCPA for lunch meal and dishwashing.
  • Set up, deliver, pick up and break down of meal carts.
  • Maintain appliance temperature and food temperature logs.
  • Pack food and supplies for satellite sites as needed.
  • Maintain clean work areas including prep tables, storage spaces, refrigerators and stoves in accordance with sanitation and safety guidelines.
  • Wash dishes, pots, and pans and run dish machine.
  • Assist with inventory, including receiving inventory and stocking of shelves.
  • Maintain strict food safety and personal hygiene standards.
  • Attend regular food service meetings and mandatory food service trainings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in food service operations preferred.
  • General knowledge of food preparation and nutrition.
  • Ability to be a team player in a fast paced environment.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • TB Risk Assessment and/or Mantoux results required annually.
  • Evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination or religious/medical exemption prior to hire
  • Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and people from the different racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages that make up CTI’s clientele
  • Must be able to pass background check which includes fingerprinting
  • Physical Exam and immunizations (2 MMR or positive titer) required.

Education:

High School or Equivalent
