JOB SUMMARY
The Food Service Team Leader assists in operating the Food Service Ministry of the Rescue Mission. He/she serves as the lead line cook for the meal(s) assigned and coordinates the work of volunteers and Program/Tabitha participants in the preparation and service of the assigned meal(s), ensuring that the kitchen, pantry and dining room are left ready for the next use and that the appropriate preparation work for the ensuing meals is done. The Food Service Team leader is also responsible for maintaining freezer pulls according to schedules and will assist in planning and organizing special events. The Food Service Team Leader reports to the Food Service Manager or in the absence of a Manager, to the Assistant director of Facilities. QUALIFICATIONS

Compensation: $16.00 per hour

- Knowledge base of Kitchen Operation, Kitchen Equipment, Volume Cooking, and Food Safety.
- Ability to adapt menu based on current donations.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds or more and/or push or pull up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- The mobility to move within the building and between buildings.
- Maintain appropriate dress and good hygiene (neat, clean, professional appearance).
- Willing to work flexible schedule as needed (mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays).
- Ability to comply with the Food Service Manual.
- Understanding of volunteer engagement and ability to utilize and appreciate volunteers in daily tasks.
- Serves as the primary cook for the meal(s) assigned and executes the following tasks and assignments:
- Supervise all food preparation being the primary cook on duty for the assigned meal(s)
- Oversees appropriate prep work needed for the next meal(s)
- Assists in keeping the walk-in cooler clean, and organized including having product dated and labeled
- Inspect all areas of the Kitchen, Pantry and Dining Room before, during and after assigned meals
- Insures the Highest Standard of Cleanliness are maintained at all times
- Insures the Kitchen and Pantry area are secured following the last meal served
- Carefully follow policies and procedures as outlined in the Food Service Manual
- Help coordinate the work of:
- Volunteers
- Recovery & Tabitha Program Participants
- Special Events
- Freezer Pulls
- Attend meetings as scheduled:
- Weekly Food Service Meeting
- Meet regularly with the Food Service Manager & Team Leader
- Attend Manager’s Meeting in the absence of the Food Service Manager
