Job description
Position Summary:
As Cook Helper, you assists in the preparation of hot & cold foods for cooking for residents, staff other customers utilizing standardized methods and recipes under the guidance of the 1st Cook, Chef Manager, Production Manager and other Food Service Manager.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
1. Review menus prior to preparation of food
2. Understands and follows specific instruction
3. Understands and follows recipes
4. Chop, dices and cuts all food
5. Debone and bastes meat
6. Performs other duties as necessary
7. Assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability of 2nd cook in their absence
8. Report all hazardous condition conditions/equipment to the Director of
Food Service Department or managers immediately
9. Report all accidents/incidents as established by department policies.
Fill out and fire reports as directed.
10. Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly
Arranged manner at all times
11. Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies
12. Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily
Available
Qualifications: - High School Diploma, or GED and 5-year experience as General Worker or comparable experience. Must be able to read, interpret & modify recipes through verbal & written evidence, excellent attendance and punctuality record.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions,
Ability to deal with standardized situations with variables.
Ability to read & write English
