The Position:
We are looking for a skilled Foreman to join our growing team in Henrico County, Virginia! As a Foreman for Fabling Built, you will manage day to day operations of a job site as well as perform "hands on" work, as needed. Your goal will be to ensure that all work is performed safely, to the client's satisfaction, and in compliance with company policy and quality standards.
- Manage the daily operations of each job site and perform "hands on" work, as needed.
- Build long-term relationships with each client by responding to their request in a timely manner and resolving any issues that arise.
- Read specifications such as blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine construction requirements, prepare project layouts, and determine materials needed to complete the job.
- Plan, schedule, and delegate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and staffing.
- Communicate work plans to crews.
- Update Assistant Project Managers on any changes to scope or schedule of work.
- Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to ensure that specifications are being met.
- Document all updates and deficiencies in CoConstruct daily and track implemented solutions until completed.
- Participate in walk-throughs with clients and Assistant Project Managers.
- Order or requisition materials or supplies.
- Resolve personnel problems, complaints, or formal grievances when possible, or refer them to higher-level supervisors for resolution.
- Train workers on construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.
- Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common issues that arise on the job such as complaints or construction problems.
- Ensure that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Travel to individual job sites required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Demonstrated skills and/or experience in one of more building trades (carpentry, painting, flooring, etc.) is required
- Leadership skill set and industry knowledge
- Knowledge of renovation and remodeling.
- Highly organized with a proven track record leading a team
- Positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills
- Self-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Travel is required; must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proven ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 80 pounds, working in varying weather conditions, etc.)
