Delaware Valley Community Health (DVCH) is seeking full-time Front Desk / Receptionist to work as a Medical Clerk to work at one of our site in Philadelphia, PA. We are looking for a candidate that can deliver compassionate care to patients by assisting with support services for clerical staff and providing direct positive interaction with patients and their caregivers. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Screens incoming patient calls * Calls patients to remind them of their appointments the next day * Answers questions from patients and forwards calls to the appropriate personnel * Calls in prescriptions to local pharmacies with the authorization of the provider * Sorts, scans, and electronically files paper documents in the patient's electronic health record * Greets and registers patients * Verifies health insurance coverage and eligibility * Accurately collects copayments * Schedules, reschedules and cancels appointments * Completes patient referrals * Performs other basic medical clerk duties as requested by the Providers, Team Leaders, or Health Center Manager * QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED * Bilingual in Spanish/English PREFERRED * Experience in a medical office setting PREFERRED DVCH is an EOE/Veterans/Disabled/LGBTQ+ employer.
