Position: Receptionist Full/Part-time: Full-time FLSA Class: Non-exempt

Reports To: Human Resources Manager Location: Headquarters, Rockville, Maryland

Summary: The Receptionist is a critical member of the corporate staff who interacts with all members of the company staff and any office visitors. The Receptionist is primarily responsible for performing clerical tasks that support daily office operations, such as, answering and transferring phone calls, sorting mail, and greeting office visitors. This individual reports to the Human Resources Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Promptly answer incoming telephone calls and forward to the appropriate staff member; screen calls before doing so as necessary.
  • Cheerfully greet visitors who enter the office; have them sign in accordingly; direct them to/notify the appropriate staff member.
  • Perform other front office responsibilities: make appointments; maintain schedule of the conference room calendar and personnel calendar.
  • Operate postage machine, Sort and distribute incoming mail; post, stamp, log and prepare outgoing mail for postal pick up.
  • Create labels, arrange couriers, ship and track international shipments accordingly.
  • Keeping all receipts when purchasing online for items such as shipments, supplies etc. for accounting purposes.
  • Provide visitors and callers with accurate general information when appropriate and known, or refer inquiries to appropriate department/individual.
  • Assists with meetings – as hostess (provide coffee, order lunch when instructed).
  • Respond to varied requests and, prioritize and perform several duties at the same time.
  • Maintain reception area, conference rooms, and front desk clean and tidy.
  • Order supplies as requested/instructed.
  • Liaise with Building Maintenance, for climate control, repairs, etc.
  • Lock front door at 5:00pm.
  • Maintain Sign In/Out Log and Visitor Self-Report form sheet (Covid form).
  • Establish, coordinate & log Sprint long distance accounting codes for employees use.
  • Maintain the corporate holiday card list; coordinate yearly update, purging, ordering, labeling, signing & distribution of corporate holiday cards.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Comparable prior experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer and technology skills.
  • Eligible for employment in the United States.
