The College of Nursing has an opening for a part-time, 0.50 FTE, University Staff (unclassified) Front Desk Receptionist (Administrative Assistant II) position.

Nature of Work:

The University of Colorado, College of Nursing, is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist for a part-time (0.50 FTE) benefits-eligible position at the Campus Community Health clinic in Aurora, CO. Health Care Techs support specific service lines within the clinic (pediatrics, primary care, obstetrics, and behavioral health) but will be cross-trained to work across those areas as well.

Clinic Description:

With health care delivered from varied health disciplines through CU Health Partners, Campus Community Health is designed to meet convenient care needs of CU Anschutz student/faculty/staff and community members. The clinic accepts walk-ins, keeps its doors open late, and the board-certified practitioners can handle prescriptions. The CCH clinic strives to enhance multi-disciplinary care experience by providing a spectrum of physical and mental health care in an integrated care model, thereby exposing future scientists, health professionals and public health practitioners to seamless and coordinated systems of care. The clinic works closely with Student Mental Health and beginning in April 2022, will work towards complete integration when the two clinics move into shared space. The practice consists of ~3 employees.

Supervision Received:

Direct supervision will be provided by the Clinic Operations Manager.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Greets patients and their families.
  • Answers phone calls and schedules appointments.
  • Collects payments from patients for services provided and makes change where needed.
  • Reconciles change bank daily and submits daily deposit and deposit reconciliation report.
  • Inputs patient demographic and insurance data into the electronic health record system.
  • Completes patient registration paperwork for health and financial purposes, as needed.
  • Notifies other staff and providers of patient arrivals.
  • Aids with preparation of claims for insurance payers, submits prior authorizations with insurances.
  • Completes referrals for dental department.
  • Practices safety, environmental and/or infection control methods.
  • Processes medical records requests and makes copies of records as needed.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Uses judgment to select proper procedures and practices in given situations.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position has been established at $18,000-$18,750 @ 0.50 FTE.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of general clerical experience.

Substitution: College or university course work, appropriate to the work assignment, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the experience

  • Must be willing and able to work in normal patient care environment with some exposure to biological hazards and infectious diseases.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing bilingual skills (Spanish/English) at a conversation level in a clinical setting.
  • Experience providing support over the phone and in-person to diverse groups of customers
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience working with public and/or private health insurance plans
  • Experience using an electronic health record system
