Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Maintenance Admin, the Fuel and Energy Manager oversees the fuel, alternative energy and fuel island programs. This role also creates fuel and pricing, compliance and other reports for management and other departments. Additionally, this role must ensure all fuel stations are functioning correctly and within all city and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains all fuel, DEF and propane relationships and contracts.
  • Manages bulk fuel programs including delivery, invoice processing, compliance, etc.
  • Manages bulk DEF programs including delivery, invoice processing, compliance, etc.
  • Manages propane programs including delivery, invoice processing, compliance, etc.
  • Works with various entities to understand alternative energy space, including EV, hydrogen and CNG.
  • Works with various entities on grant funding, rebates, and other monetary programs around alternative energy.
  • Manages various programs around energy such as LCFS, CORE, CARB, etc.
  • Works with internal departments on fuel and other alternative energy island terminal design/ developments.
  • Provides optimal over-the-road (OTR) fuel data to operations, including compliance reports.
  • Negotiates and maintains OTR contracts/programs with various providers to drive cost out of fueling.
  • Coordinates and manages all fuel island repairs, compliance, testing, etc.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of energy markets and programs including both diesel and other alternative fueling options.
  • Understands various taxes around energy and potential savings opportunities through state and federal programs.
  • Maintains and reviews computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance and inventories.
  • Monitors changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends and futures markets.
  • Evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determines need for changes.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in fuel and alternative energy markets highly preferred
  • Experience with fuel management systems (OPW, Veedor Root, etc)
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of a large organization
  • Experience managing and evaluation of a national bid (RFP/RFQ)

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Project management: 1 year (Preferred)
  • fuel and alternative energy markets: 1 year (Required)

  • managing and evaluation of a national bid (RFP/RFQ): 1 year (Preferred)
