Our Service Desk Team within IT serves as the primary point of contact for monitoring / owning incidents, addressing user requests/questions and providing a communications channel between other service management functions and our end user community. We require training and competency in both technical and business skills. We take pride in our customer service skills such as empathy, incident analysis and prioritization, effective communication, and emotional intelligence.


About the Role.

The Full Stack Developer's primary responsibility is the creation and enhancement of our electronic health record (EHR), EHR-related product and platform enhancements, day-to-day maintenance of health care application systems in operation, and tasks related to identifying and troubleshooting issues and tier 3 incident escalations. Incident tasks include root cause analysis, solution design, development and testing, vendor coordination and management/user communication in coordination with the IT Service Desk team. As part of the Enterprise Application Services team, you will be a key contributor to the centers code library and participate in code review sessions, sprint planning and scrum updates.


Essential Functions:

  • Designs, estimates, builds and tests new platform changes or enhancements
    • Our current primary EHR platform is SmartCare from Streamline but this role will be responsible for working with peripheral/integrated tools and platforms as well as any future replacement platforms.
  • Works within the existing ASP.Net framework and the EHR SDK to create new code according to requirements and specifications
  • Follows established procedures for change management across applications where changes are necessary
  • Creates documentation for common processes that are repeated and can be shared with others.
  • Provides technical and architectural guidance to our development partners
  • Ensures all application changes are made in accordance with life-cycle methodology and risk guidelines
  • Works with the Enterprise Applications Services Team to implement new application enhancements and features
  • Develops product unit tests that will be used for future application regression testing
  • Suggests fixes to complex issues by doing a thorough analysis of root cause and impact of the defect.
  • Reviews the work executed by the Enterprise Applications Services Team, and provide guidance related to application design.
  • Coordinates with Enterprise Application Services Team to successfully deploy software releases in both User Acceptance Testing and Production environments
  • Interacts with end users, internal users, development vendors, data analysts, and other engagement team members

Requirements:

  • Preferred: Bachelors in Computer Science or Programming
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience developing web-based applications in C# with a Microsoft SQL Server Database backend (If no applicable degree, then minimum experience is eight (8) years)
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working within one or more EHR or EMR software systems
  • Preferred: Development experience on SmartCare preferred
  • Experience writing TSQL code; creating tables, procedures, functions, views, triggers, etc.
  • Experience using source control (TFS / Azure preferred)
  • In-depth understanding of C#, ASP.Net, JavaScript, Ajax, Jquery, CSS, HTML and TSQL
  • Experience developing within a waterfall development methodology and an agile (i.e. Scrum or Kanban) framework
  • Understanding of HIPAA & HITECH regulations
  • Understanding of Relational Databases and methods of storing and retrieving data
  • Excellent communications skills (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated organizational ability and follow-through
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or work harmoniously as a member of a team
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills combined with the ability to debug programming and system issues with minimal direction


Required Vaccinations:

  • Aurora Mental Health Center (AuMHC) has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as well as receive an annual influenza (flu) shot prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations we will be required upon your first day of employment.
  • Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for either COVID 19 vaccine or annual flu shot.


Compensation, Benefits and Perks


Salary for this role
(based on experience and company equity):

  • $85,000 to $125,000 / year (final determination is based of years of qualified experience)
