JOB TITLE: Aquatics Program Lead

REPORTS TO: Program Director

FLSA TYPE: Non-Exempt


POSITION DESCRIPTION
:

Primary focus is to assist Program Directors in the implementation and supervision, primarily in aquatics and assisting youth sports. Serving as lifeguard, swim lesson instructor, swim coach, sports supervisor, and sports official. Additionally, serving members, program participants and guests, answering phones, and communicating changes in program offerings to members, program participants, and staff. The job consists of working with employees of various departments, volunteers, and program participants.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • When serving as lifeguard, swim lesson instructor, swim coach, sports supervisor, and sports official refer to the specific job description for responsibilities.
  • Must stay current in CPRPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually.
  • Serve as a monitor on duty for facility and programs after business hours.
  • Maintain a clean environment in the facility and programs by picking up trash and handling spills.
  • Respond to and accurately report all accidents and incidents that occur in facility and program areas.
  • Monitor facility and handle and solve member and program inquiries, concerns and complaints in support of the manager on duty.
  • Assure that towel service is maintained throughout the evening and prepared for following day.
  • Provide member services such as membership sales, tours, answer and direct phone calls, guest registration, provide program information and registration, input membership and program information into computer, accept payment/cash register/receipts, schedule appointments, make and scan membership cards, rent lockers, stock and distribute towels.
  • Serve as liaison between members and program supervisors.
  • Handle and solve member and program inquiries, concerns and complaints.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
  • Accept and demonstrate the positive character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
  • Attend Scheduled Staff Meeting.
  • Stay off all personal electronic items; cell phones, i-pads,
  • Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors and volunteers.

EFFECT ON END RESULT

Results are positive when participants are having fun by; improving and learning new skills, sharing time with current and new friends, exercising and competing. The effectiveness of the incumbent’s fulfillment of the position should be measured by the morale of the employed and volunteer staff and their effectiveness with people. The ability to take charge in the absence of supervision and to see that the aquatic and youth sports is running efficiently and safely.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. We will train.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have strong verbal interpersonal and communication skills, experience in a service-oriented environment, computer skills and accuracy.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
