Position Summary SHIFT - Saturday & Sunday 8am-8:30pm and Monday 9a-530p

The On-Call Nurse administers hospice nursing care for patients, families, and caregivers during the Evening, at Night and over the Weekend. The On-Call Nurse is experienced in providing nursing care to patients and possesses strong observation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The On-Call Nurse functions well independently, with support of the Medical Director as needed, to provide services outlined in patients’ established plans of care as well as manage patient symptoms that are changing. The On-Call Nurse is also available to assist families at home when their loved one dies.

Experience

Minimum of two years experience – preferably in the ICU/ER

Experience in Hospice Care preferred

Experience in Acute Care setting required

Understand hospice philosophy and issues of death/dying

Education and Training

Associate degree in Nursing is required

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred

Licenses, Certification and Registration

Possess and maintain current CPR certification

Current Massachusetts licensure – Registered Nurse

Valid Driver’s License, reliable automobile and required insurance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $49.00 per hour
