GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER, DOCKS & DOORS & LEVELERS
1ST SHIFT MON-FRI 6 AM - 230 PM
NO WEEKENDS OR TRAVEL
$20-25/HR
OVERVIEW:
Commercial door Maintenance on a 2 million square foot facility including sectional doors, high-speed fabric doors, rolling steel doors, bug screens, door operators and General Electric troubleshooting. Will also assist in the maintenance of dock levelers, mechanical equipment, general building maintenance, painting, doors, fixing locks, survey building for repairs and assist technicians as needed with plumbing, electrical, roofing, Fire safety and HVAC systems.
General Responsibilities:
- Installation and service overhead garage doors for commercial businesses
o Sectional Doors
o High-Speed Fabric Doors
o Rolling Steel Doors
o Bug Screens
o Operators
o Perform related minor work in framing, build-ins, and adjustments. perform commercial service/installation on a wide range of products, including hinges, operators, door sections.
- Basic knowledge of electrical wiring as it relates to installing garage door openers, sensor eyes, and wall buttons.
- Performs other tasks such as but not limited to changing light bulbs, installing paper dispenser units, changing filters, changing locks on doors, minor decorative maintenance and other tasks not requiring a licensed skilled trades person or journeyman.
- Cleans and lubricates parts.
- Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
- Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
- May drive a cart or other vehicle.
- May assist in training, assigning and checking the work of lower-level employees.
- May be required to inventory equipment, parts and supplies.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience/Knowledge:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- 2 or more years of related experience.

License/Qualifications:
- Holds appropriate license/certification for the specific work to be done in the city and state in which the work will be done.
- A valid driver’s license may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
- Significant walking or other means of mobility.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
