GENERAL MANAGER Position Summary

Develop and direct food and beverage program with quality products and ensuring high hospitality standards are met

Educate and coach all employees on food, beverage and hospitality standards

Oversee front and back of house food service operations for quick service food hall and event space to include pop up restaurants, tasting kitchen, and catered events

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Oversees safety standards of kitchen and food items assuring freshness and quality of menu items

Oversees employees maintain NYC Department of Health guidelines

Perform administrative tasks, including weekly and monthly financials

Maintain budgets for food, beverage and labor costs

Knowledge of company computer program Caterxpert

Responsible for system succession planning/employee development/diversity initiatives/training/constructive counseling

Maintain and develop client relationships and client satisfaction for all aspects of operation to ensure account retention

Prioritize venue operations and reports to meet compliance and deadlines

Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between all team members

Understand and evaluate information to meet objectives

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

8 + years prior food and beverage management experience

Hospitality Management Degree or Equivalent Preferred

Experience overseeing multi-unit operations including event operations with food service corporation/restaurant/and or hotel

Effective communication both verbally and written with all levels of employees, guests, vendors and clients in a professional and courteous manner

Ability to manage culinary team and front of house operations

Proven ability to control food and labor cost within the department

Anticipate and identify problem areas and implement effective solutions

Proficient in computer programs, specifically excel

Knowledge of POS operating systems and programming

Knowledge of NYC Health Department guidelines, including safe temperature at which ingredients must be kept and to which food must be prepared to avoid foodborne illness

New York City Food Handler’s Certificate will be required within one month of employment

Calm and professional demeanor to work in a high-stress, fast paced environment

Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for at least 8 hours

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all F&B operations, including forecasting, budgeting, and inventory while maximizing sales and revenue.

The ideal candidate has the ability to ensure the guest experience meets the hospitality standards of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:

Operation Management

· Coordinate and manage the entire operation of the venue during scheduled service, including the flow of service, and implementing creative solutions as needed

· Resolving guest issues and concerns with a professional demeanour

· Enforcing service standards as described in the Hospitality/Great Performances Employee Guides

· Maintain an open, professional communication with our venue partner

Venue Promotions

· Assist Venue Director with promotional activities, and operational changes

· Manage logistics for internal catering events

· Assist with rental orders and special event ordering

· Accommodating special requests as per Venue Director

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

· Minimum 1-2 years hospitality management experience.

· Combination of practical experience and education

· Knowledge of computers to fulfil management functions, including word and excel

· Knowledge of Department of Health guidelines and standards

· Self-disciplined and initiative; leadership ability; pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance;

· Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide

range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions

· Must possess excellent communication and written skills

· Food Handler's Certificate is a MUST
