Georgia Connections Academy is a tuition-free, full-time virtual school for students in grades 5-12 throughout Georgia. The school is authorized by the Georgia Charter Schools Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors, with a mission to maximize academic achievement for students who are seeking other academic options. The school is operated by Georgia Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Georgia, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by AdvancED, and GACA is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

Working from our office in Duluth, Georgia, the Registrar will be responsible for daily administrative tasks of the school related to input and maintenance of student record data in the school’s education management system (EMS) and myGADOE Portal.

The Registrar will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:

  • Work closely with school leaders and district administrators to ensure successful attendance and records procedures are followed;
  • Utilizing the State Longitudinal Data System (SLDS);
  • Comply with procedures for the requesting and retrieval of grades for transfer students, the recording of these grades, and the distribution of grades to all appropriate school personnel involved in the data flow process;
  • Complete the verification process of Seniors for graduation cohort which consists of:
  • Manage the district withdrawals process;
  • Supervise an Administrative Assistant that supports withdrawals and paperwork;
  • Maintain an active role in the review and finalization of state reporting; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Previous experience as a school registrar or in a school district administrative role
  • Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products)
  • Proficient with creating and working in Excel spreadsheets
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Pleasant, well-rounded, mature personality, with an absolute drive towards professionalism and customer satisfaction
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • High degree of flexibility
  • Team player with demonstrated leadership skills
