Job Description
*This is a hybrid role based in Charlotte, North Carolina*
The successful candidate will provide GIS support and analysis for timberland and farmland resource information maintenance and updating for Manulife Forest Management (MFM). The team provides GIS support services to property management teams within the Manulife Investment Management, Timberland and Agriculture (MIMTA) sector.
Specific Duties:
- Manage and conduct spatial and descriptive resource information system updates with silvicultural activities, inventory data and other information.
- Provide technical support (mapping and analysis) to MFM operations for the compilation of annual harvests, establishment, and other site preparation activities.
- Conduct quality control with respect to stand information, spatial data, and silvicultural information.
- Support the effective operational deployment of GIS tools, information collection tools, analysis tools, and applications.
- Assist with special projects as requested.
- Assists in advancement of MIMTA business development objectives including property transactions, timberland & farmland investment analysis, decision support tools, systems, and other strategic business objectives.
- Supports conformance with SFI certification requirements and support management systems that enable the advancement of MIMTA forest stewardship commitment.
- Supports all aspects of property data tabulation for periodic property appraisals.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in forestry or related discipline is required.
- Three or more years professional experience in resource information/GIS management and analysis with a strong preference for forestry operations experience.
- GIS data management, spatial analysis, and map production expertise using Esri software products including ArcPro, ArcMap, Esri Collector, and web-based workflows.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of forest operations and the information and analysis needed to support silvicultural activities.
- Knowledge in areas of forest inventory, geographic information systems, and growth and yield systems.
- Programming experience in SQL Server or Python is desirable.
- Ability to handle diverse support requests with professionalism and a strong customer support mentality.
- Must have strong organizational, analytical skills and communication skills.
- Must be a team player, highly motivated and entrepreneurial.

Salary & Benefits
The annual base salary for this role is listed below.
Primary Location
Charlotte, North CarolinaSalary range is expected to be between
$52,725.00 USD - $87,875.00 USDIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
