JOB FUNCTION

We are seeking hard working professionals with strong technical skill sets to perform field work in active construction zones. Field work includes the use of GPR equipment to locate the following items embedded in concrete slabs prior to their cutting and removal:

• Rebar
• Conduits
• Post-tension cables
• Underground utilities
• Extensive knowledge of subsurface investigations, GPR principles & methods.
• Extensive knowledge of EM and RF Locating equipment & techniques
• Full understanding of Concrete Construction practices
• Concrete Cutting & Drilling experience is a plus
• Use superior observational skills and deductive reasoning to identify, locate, and mark all embedments within a requested job scope
• Generate detailed scan reports
• Properly use and maintain company instruments and equipment
• Complete assignments and projects within assigned time frame
• Core drilling as needed
• Interpret scan results to clients

QUALIFICATIONS

• High technical aptitude and physical capabilities
• Strong professionalism and work ethic
• Background in general construction or experience with GPR, concrete scanning or utility locating. Comprehensive company training will be provided either way.
• Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently on active job sites
• Excellent communication, social and interpersonal skills
• Ability to document data, write reports and communicate findings
• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent required. BSCE graduates with EIT's will be considered.
• 1-10 years of experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate in English. Ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

When hired as a field technician at AEIS you will work on active construction sites and perhaps in a soils/concrete testing laboratory. You will get dirty and be exposed to outside weather conditions. We will supply the equipment you need and provide training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires long term standing and perhaps repetitive motions. You must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit. You must have the ability to see and smell; including close distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. You may be required to drive hundreds of miles per day. Lifting - You will regularly lift/move/shake up to 40 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds; and occasionally move more than 100 pounds [such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete samples].

NOTE: Weekend and overtime work may be required with this position. Must have your own car.
