POSITION PURPOSE:
The Guest Services/Event Staff Crew are responsible for ensuring all visitors to the XL Center and Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field receive a superior experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets all guests in a welcoming, friendly manner.
- Arrives for shift on time, neatly groomed and in a clean, pressed, well-maintained uniform.
- Examines each ticket to ensure correct date and event.
- Escorts guests to correct seats.
- Answers guest questions regarding event and arena operations (e.g., location of concession stands, restrooms, etc.)
- Ensures non-smoking rules are followed.
- Keeps aisles and stairways clear of objects and guest gatherings to ensure safe entry/exit.
- Responds to guest concerns in a respectful and calm manner and contacts Supervisor or Manager as needed.
- Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor adhering to “Expectations for Guest Service” at all times.
- Accurately and thoroughly completes all pertinent reports and documentation.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
- Prior customer service experience required.
- Excellent communication skills required with thorough understanding of written and spoken English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work at the arena in Hartford, CT and the stadium in East Hartford, CT.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to traverse a variety of terrain and floor surfaces including stairs, escalators, carpet, concrete.
- Ability to work in heights, in darkened area, around crowds, loud noises and flashing lights.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced environment and stressful situations.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, as needed.
