Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of the harvest department(s) in processing meat processing facility, while improving the efficiency of manpower, yields, materials and machines by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides leadership to employees through effective communication, coaching, training and development.

Acts as a member of the management team and performs other duties as directed by position or required by the General Manager.

Manages the scheduling of production: sets work schedules and sets departmental goals and expectations.

Supervisory responsibility includes management of employee performance, hiring, discipline, development, recourse planning and training

Develops, monitors and implements department budgets and production forecasts.

Develops, analyzes, and presents reports, including but not limited to, forecasts, productivity and safety.

Facilitates workflow management, workforce scheduling, and employee placement to ensure the facility and company goals are successfully met or exceeded. Provide technical expertise to resolve production issues and creates and ensures corrective actions are implemented.

Manages departmental procurement of supplies and equipment.

Utilizes problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, process control, and continuous process improvement tools to meet or exceed the facility key operating statistics.

Plans and monitors throughput and efficiencies for the department. Monitors and takes appropriate timely improvement action to meet production quality and quantity.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining safety standards as required by law and company policy.

Manages compliance with all regulatory bodies including USDA, FDA, EPA, OSHA, etc.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must be able to interface well with all employees of the Company and to represent the Company in a highly professional manner. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Must be multi-task oriented.

Language Ability:

Must be Bilingual. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions. Ability to effectively read, speak and communicate in English and Spanish. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before small groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to interact and draw valid conclusions. Ability to react, respond and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of various computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation and/or ERP software as well as the ability to type and perform 10 key by touch if germane to your position.

Certificates and Licenses:

Must be HACCP Certified.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages multiple employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
