Summary

As the Head of Operations, you will shape all areas of the business and help set and drive all key strategic initiatives to ensure alignment among goals, timelines, cost, and quality. You will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and solving this venture’s most critical opportunities, including supporting market expansion, managing cash flow, and forecasting “clinic” headcount needs to accommodate patient growth. This is a great opportunity for proven and rising leaders to get in early and help develop a transformative experience and brand.

The Head of Operations will report directly to the CEO. This position will also be based in person in our NYC office. Travel will be required ~50% of the time as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the CEO in culture development, team design, vendor management, fundraising, goal setting, and hiring

  • Identify the top markets for the venture to expand based on regulations, cost, access to talent, competition, etc.

  • Develop the playbook to launch and scale multiple hospice agencies that represent our brand identity and provide a best-in-class experience for our staff, patients, and caregivers

  • Work with our Head of Hospice to forecast clinical staff needs that support business growth

  • Collaborate with our CEO and People team to build a strong company-wide culture that values all employees and results in high levels of retention

  • Work with marketing, outreach, and product teams to demonstrate our value proposition in local communities to attract new patients, push our education goals, and drive impact

  • Partner with our leadership team to define and track key performance indicators to responsibly manage resources and achieve strategic goals

Skills and Toolset You'll Need to Bring:

  • 0 to 1 know-how: you’re confident in your ability to work from scratch

  • Demonstrated success developing and operationalizing processes across large-scale, distributed teams

  • Expertise in organizations with an emphasis on strong service experience design

  • A strong operator who has managed and grown teams

  • Deep expertise in organizational, analytical, prioritization, time management, project management, and people management skills

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience at a health tech startup or company

  • Experience cultivating or working with a hybrid health care model

  • Experience at a startup in the 0 to 1 phase

Relevant Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a key Operations roles

  • 1+ years of experience launching new markets and supporting a fast-growing company’s expansion (with P&L oversight of new market performance)

  • Demonstrated success developing and operationalizing processes across large-scale, distributed teams (10 people+)

  • Expertise in organizations with an emphasis on strong service experience design

  • Strong operator who has managed and grown teams

  • Deep expertise in organizational, analytical, prioritization, time management, project management, and people management skills

New York City - Full Time

Salary Range $140,000 - $220,000
