A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEAD OF PLATS AND SURVEYS

As Head of Plats and Surveys, you play a vital role in our company. Each day, you come to work ready to ensure that our plats and surveys department runs smoothly and that we have plenty of work to do. Whether you're scheduling jobs, assigning survey parties, or coordinating between multiple crews on a site, you are efficient and organized. A proponent of good communication, you ensure that the surveyors are up to speed on their tasks, answering questions and explaining details you've thoroughly researched. As an experienced surveyor, you know that safety is a primary concern, so you keep up to date on regulations and ensure that the rules you've set in place are current and enforced.

In addition, you perform a variety of other organizational and managerial duties such as preparing estimates, attending meetings, and supervising various members of our staff. Personable and friendly, you form connections in your networking that bring in additional jobs for us to do. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HEAD OF PLATS AND SURVEYS

• Licensed as a professional surveyor in the state of MD
• 2+ years of surveying experience
• Knowledge about MD State Highway Administration (SHA) practices
