Position Description: Health and Wellness Coordinator (Richard A. Henson Wellness Center)

The Health and Wellness Coordinator will carry out the general operations of the Henson Wellness Center, as well as help to execute a variety of projects and evidenced based programs under the Living Well Center of Excellence.

This position reports directly to the LWCE Chief Operations Officer.

Essential Functions:

• Manage the Wellness Center, its cleanliness and the front desk area.
• Answering phones and questions from individuals who need the help.
• Interact with all potential and ongoing members of the gym. New members will need an orientation, overview of the application packet and ongoing members may need a workout plan written up for them.
• Oversee all monies that enter the wellness facility. Entering them into the EZ Facility and making two copies of receipts for all money sent up to Michelle Grager. One copy goes to Ms. Grager and other copy stays in the Fitness Center.
• Oversee the Salisbury University Exercise Science Interns and Salisbury University Nursing Students on a daily basis.
• Teach group fitness classes and maintain personal training schedule and sessions on regular weekly basis.
• Keep all records of Evidence based programs (Enhanced Fitness, and Tai Chi for Better Balance)
• Keep a record of evidence-based classes and maintain the necessary paperwork for each class
• Maintain an active CPR, First Aid certification, and Personal Trainer Certifications.
• Keep ongoing relationship with all parts of MAC Inc. in order to spread the word of MAC Wellness and what we have to offer.
• Work hand in hand with Leigh Ann Eagle and Nancy Gompers sending e-mails, typing up reports, making PowerPoint presentations, maintaining excel files, scanning and copying information and playing a role in the grant process.
• Coordinate with the Communications department to update the MAC Inc. Wellness part of the website and Facebook, updating it with information the public should know (Prices, class schedules, fitness center hours, etc.)
• Support and participate in MAC Inc. fundraisers.
• Oversee and conduct Covid-19 contact tracing protocols and reports as needed.
• Maintain communications with members about building closures and holiday schedules.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary fitness center duties not limited to; wiping/disinfecting surfaces of equipment, dust removal from the rooms and equipment, vacuuming and mopping the floors, cleaning the windows and mirrors, performing preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid and current personal trainer certification
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements:

• Intermittent periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to be physically active for a majority of the day, will be on your feet working with clients, and constantly moving around exercise equipment of various weights.
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds at times

Other Requirements:

• Criminal background check required prior to employment
• Reliable transportation

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
