Position: Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser Classification: Service Clerk

Work Schedule: FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Performs exams, takes ear impressions, fits, cleans, adjusts, and orders hearing aid product and supplies. Performs front desk duties and provides a high level of member service.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Performs Hearing Aid Dispenser duties consisting of consultations and exams. Uses equipment located inside a booth for testing and ear impressions. Recommends hearing devices, places orders, and refers for further care if needed. Uses tooling and equipment to perform fittings, adjustments, and cleanings on hearing aid devices.

• Provides prompt courteous member services and responds to any customer problems.
• Properly trains customers in caring for their hearing devices, such as intrinsic cleaning and brushing.
• Performs front desk duties consisting of scheduling for booths, cycle, and workforce central. Answers phone calls, replies to emails, orders supplies, coordinates walk-ups, and maintains filing records.

• Loads, operates cash register, and performs money transactions with customers.
• Submits and receives orders for hearing aid supplies and office supplies.
• Follows safety and security procedures, follows PPE requirements, and maintains cleanliness of the department.
• Cleans and sanitizes hearing aids, equipment, and work surfaces per department’s standards.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

• Hearing aid, otoscope, audiometer, impression gun, impression syringe, device vacuum, testing equipment, and small hearing aid components, Phone, fax, copier, email, computer, cash register, hand-held scanner, private vehicle

Non-Essential Functions

• Assists with front end duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

• Cash register, tabletop/hand-held scanners, carts, and flatbeds.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications
Required:

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Hearing Aid Dispenser or Audiologist License or Registration as required by state law.
• Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Professionals HIPAA Training (before beginning work in department),

Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste
Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option STOP Training (within 30 days), any additional certifications or training as required by department.

• Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire.

Recommended:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Computer, math, and customer service skills preferred.
