AGENCY BACKGROUND:
MercyFirst is a not-for-profit human and social service agency that has been serving children and families in need since we were founded by the Sisters of Mercy/Hermanas de las Misericordia in 1894. Today our agency continues to address the emotional and physical needs of children and families in Brooklyn, Queens and across Long Island through innovative treatments and life-changing interventions. We provide community-based prevention and family foster care services, group homes in the community for struggling children and families within the child welfare and juvenile justice systems, and short-term residential services for unaccompanied migrant children. Each year, MercyFirst serves more than 3,000 children, teenagers and families overcome enormous obstacles, re-imagine their futures and develop their full potential.

PROGRAM BACKGROUND:
The Information Technology is responsible for any IT related matter such as issues regarding computer hardware, applications, networks and operating systems.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Tech Services Manager, the Help Desk Level I Analyst is responsible for hardware and software support and for performing other tasks as assigned by the Director of IT.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in PC/LAN architecture with an emphasis on PC configuration and troubleshooting; Proficiency in Windows 95 and 98 and Microsoft Office 97.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and perform troubleshooting, installations, diagnoses, and configurations on networked PCs and peripherals.
• Image PCs
• Install and configure software
• Provide answers, explanations and guidance to end-users
• Troubleshoot functionality of software applications in a networked environment
• Monitor the use and security of equipment including PCs and peripherals
• Enter all end-user requests for assistance into tracking system

Salary Range:
$40,000 - $45,000 per year

$1500 Hiring Incentive after 500 worked hours
