Job description
Serves as a Crew Foreman. Maintains weekly and monthly reports, time sheets and cost records; recommends personnel actions including promotions, transfers and disciplinary measures; rates employee yearly according to the Employee Performance Management System. Supervises and inspects all aspects of roadway and right-of-way maintenance including, but not limited to, ditching, machining shoulders, patching, general excavation, laying pipe, asphalt paving, and vegetation management. Reviews Highway Maintenance Management System (HMMS), Daily Work Reports, Work Requests, and Daily PM Vehicle Checklists for all assigned crews. Will respond to and interact with citizens to resolve problems and complaints. Operates and trains crew members in the use of Small, Medium, and Heavy equipment assigned to crew for the completion of maintenance activities. Supervises and coordinates crew in the removal of snow and ice from roadways and storm damage. Verifies all personnel, equipment, and materials assigned to crew by the RME and listed under HMMS have been correctly entered into the system each workday. Responsible for developing and implementing a weekly work schedule, and safety policy. Coordinates manpower, materials, and equipment needs with other foremen to support the proposed schedule. Submits completed schedule will be submitted to the RME or ARME for review and comment. Performs on call duties for after hour emergencies. Performs other duties as assigned by RME and ARME.
This Position is located at District Five: Florence Maintenance

Four (4) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required upon entry to the position. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
