JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Provide assistance of a non-medical nature that enables older persons to live independently with dignity.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direction of the Home Services Director
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Those assigned to assist including volunteers
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (An employee in this class may be called upon to do any or all of the following: (These examples do not include all of the tasks which an employee may be expected to perform).

Allowable tasks are determined by a care plan based on the needs of the older persons. Allowable tasks include: assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, eating, ambulation, laundry, ironing, meal preparation, shopping for necessities and light housekeeping.
Accurate recordkeeping of mileage and other required record keeping turned in to the Home Services Director in a timely manner.
Completion of PATTI phone system from clients home.

DESIRABLE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and/or QUALIFICATIONS: An employee in this class, upon appointment, should have the equivalent of the following training and experience.

High school diploma or GED
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) desirable but not required.
Experience working with older adults.
Must have reliable transportation.
Nurse's aide training.
Must have record keeping ability.

Physical Requirements
Lift 50 pounds as needed for client transfers with/or without a gait belt. Carry an average weight of 1 to 10 pounds, several times a day up to 50 feet. Push/pull average weight of 10 - 250 pounds for a distance of 10 - 100 feet on carpet/tile for wheel chair bound clients. Stand on carpet/tile up to 80% of the day. Walk on carpet/tile up to 75% of the day up to 10 - 100 feet, 1 - 2 hours at a time and go up and down stairs. Reach, bend, squat, and kneel several times an hour. Maintain a work pace of steady to fast paced at times, multi-task several times a day. Ability to see and hear, information and needs of the client's environment. Additional Information
