The Missile and Weapon Systems (MWS) is seeking a Homeland Defense Senior Cybersecurity Manager to join the team in Huntsville, AL.

The ideal candidate will organize, equip, develop, and sustain the MWS Cyber Engineering Organization in support of the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) program portfolio.

The Senior Cyber Security Manager will be responsible for the engineering integrity of all Cyber / Product Security work products that span across multiple IPTs (Systems Engineering, Ground Systems, Ops and Sustainment, and Test Readiness), and all phases of the product life cycle.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our engineers and analysts are ready and able to deliver secure and resilient products and continued GMD mission readiness and to support the development of new business opportunities. You will also be responsible for the growth and maturity of the MWS Cyber Engineering organization and facilitation of the integration and adoption of Enterprise Initiatives such as Design Practices and Model Based Engineering.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate should understand and possess demonstrable skills and experience including:

  • Ability to build strong partnerships and build teams with multiple stakeholders to enable integration across multiple engineering domains and IPTs.

  • Strategic planning and action taking, with proven experience influencing leadership, partners, and other groups

  • Leading and supporting proposals

  • Leading and supporting program planning and execution

  • Establishing and adapting organizations

  • Attracting, developing, and retaining talent

  • Planning, executing, and leading the execution of cyber security engineering related activities in team environments

  • Working with Risk Management Framework (RMF) plans and considerations

  • Understanding and experience in systems and/or software engineering, including:

    • Development of Architecture, Requirements, Concepts of Operations, and Use Cases

    • Development of Hardware and Software products

    • Integration and Unit Test

    • Verification and Validation

    • Testing, including Acceptance and Fielding Tests

Other Position Responsibilities and Experience:

  • Demonstrated history of performance in systems or software engineering and leadership, and operating throughout the course of the engineering or operations lifecycle.

  • Work independently and effectively with external customers and subcontractors in a multi-site and multi-discipline program and environment.

  • Experience with model based engineering and Agile based work environments preferred

  • Motivated and exhibit strong written and verbal communication, inter-personal, and problem-solving skills

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10 years+ experience in a technical or engineering field

  • 5 years+ experience in cyber security and/or product security engineering

  • 5 years+ experience in technical leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum technical BS degree in one or more fields of study, including: computer science; software engineering; systems engineering; computer engineering; electrical engineering; and cybersecurity engineering.
