The housekeeping workers need to be trained and led according to our mission, vision and values. Additionally, it is the challenge of the housekeeping supervisor to provide an optimum environment for the housekeeping staff. An environment which will enable them to perform their work in the best possible manner, and to continually develop their work skills, as well as personal competencies.
Basic Job Specifications:
- Member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, in good and regular standing Health educator course certificate, health/ medical background desired, managerial experience, a mature Christian
- Meet physical demands of the department’s occasional needs such as lift boxes, physically handling guests, doing the exercise classes, and walking with the guests around the campus
- Able to follow basic instructions and follow through with them
- Computer, scheduling, & organizational skills
- Must be at 18 years of age and a mature Christian
- Reliable, dependable, neat, clean, and well groomed
- Must be friendly, polite, and a team player
- Speaks, read, and writes English fluently
- Abide to the Wildwood standards
- Current Driver’s License
Expectations:
- No cell phone usage unless for work purposes
- All personal matters are to be handle outside of work hours, unless given permission
- No causal communications with friends or family during work hours
- Must be on early, not on time. If work starts at 9 am, arrive at 8:50 to be ready to work at 9 am
Education:
Although, educational qualification is not mandatory, the supervisor must have undergone all the required training in the department, and must also be well acquainted with the housekeeping manual.
Experience:
- Experienced in areas of customer service
- Experienced in working in a team
- Experience in the housekeeping department work in Wildwood Lifestyle Center & Clinic (for at least six months)
- Experience in management work is preferred
Competencies / Skils:
In addition to the skills of a housekeeper, the housekeeping supervisor must have the following skills:
- Operational skills: it is required that the supervisor should have good operational skills order to both effectively manage daily operations and policy deployment.
- Customer service skills: housekeeping is all about providing excellent quality of service to its guests.
- Interpersonal skills: the housekeeping supervisor should have good interpersonal skills. They must have the ability to relate to several people within a short time-span, as while supervising workers, they will be expected to communicate with their superiors, co-workers and guests.
- Management skills: this position requires good management skills where the manager can efficiently oversee and facilitate an orderly and encouraging work environment.
- Scheduling and planning skills: because the housekeeping supervisor must perform a number of tasks each day, thus planning and scheduling skills is a must. The supervisor must also be able to work with a well-structured system in order to better facilitate all activities in their department.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate and implement the mission, vision and the values of housekeeping
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times
- Solving guests complains with promptness
- Supervise housekeeping and laundry workers, making sure that they complete their tasks according to the required standards and time frame
- Check all the different areas of work and make sure that everything is running smoothly.
- Make sure that people know what they should do and that there is no shortage of staff (lifestyle, clinic, education building, light building, laundry)
- Inspect the whole building regularly, and make sure that all areas are in a clean and orderly manner as it should be
- Take time to train new staff
- Work together and communicate on a regular basis with the different departments; Wildwood Lifestyle Center & Clinic administration, the lifestyle director, guest services, laundry and maintenance
- Take time to consider the well being of workers, socially, emotionally and spiritually
- Evaluate workers monthly by using the online evaluation form, while giving them feedback
- Take care of all documentation, keys, materials, supplies etc.
- Provide check lists and all necessary documentation for workers
- Sign time sheets for the workers and keep track of their time
- Give a written monthly report to administration about how things are going in the department. Report on any changes, improvements and all matters that concern them
- Manage and oversee all the supplies that come in and go out
- Deliver all invoices to the accounting department on time
- Record prices at the end of the month in the department charge sheets (the book where people sign out the supplies) and deliver them to the accounting office
- Assist in cleaning when there is a need, or when short on staff
- Update, adjust and optimize the housekeeping manual regularly
- Keep the housekeeping “office” clean and in order
- The housekeeping supervisor must have worked for at least six months in the housekeeping department, and must be well acquainted with all the department procedures

Work conditions will at times require determined discipline, as the attention of the housekeeping supervisor will be drawn in different directions.
