Job description
The Housekeeping Services Supervisor supervises housekeeping staff and performs housekeeping duties throughout the Community in accordance with established guidelines as required in Community policies and procedures.
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties amy be required and assigned.
- Establishes weekly housekeeping schedule for housekeeping services.
- Establishes planned maintenance schedule specific for housekeeping, as described in the Resident Information Guide.
- Meets with new residents to discuss housekeeping preferences and available services.
- Able to step in where needed such as cleaning apartments, common areas, etc.
- Orders and keeps record of all janitorial and bathroom supplies not to exceed budgetary guidelines.
- May assist with preparation of operating budget for department and equipment.
- Maintains all housekeeping and cleaning equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition.
- Reports observations regarding structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctioning equipment and any needed repairs to the Executive Director and Maintenance Technician.
- Maintains up-to-date records on housekeeping activities.
- Inspects and makes ready all apartments and patio homes prior to occupancy by residents; works closely with Maintenance Technician to ensure complete move-in preparation.
- Responds promptly, courteously and appropriately to resident requests for services.
- Acts promptly to coordinate pest services with outside vendor and Resident.
- Assists with hiring and orientation of new housekeeping staff members.
- Ensures staff is trained on the safe handling of cleaning chemicals in accordance with department guidelines and assures compliance with local, state, federal safety standards MSDS, OSHA, EDA 7, and other applicable rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Supervisory
- Supervises housekeepers to ensure cleaning duties are performed as assigned and to expectations in assigned areas, including apartments and patio homes, common areas, public restrooms, lounges and offices.
- Supervises housekeeping staff, coordinates staffing schedules to ensure the proper cleaning of offices, common areas, and apartment and patio homes.
- Provide in-service resources for other departments to ensure appropriate use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Conducts regular inspections of all common areas and resident homes.
- Provides performance feedback timey and addresses performance issues timely and appropriately.
- Perform employee evaluations in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates an interest in working with a senior population.
- Demonstrates a warm, outgoing personality.
- Interacts with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
