Under the Human Resource department, the Human Resource Relations Specialist will create and deliver marketing strategies that enhance our ability to recruit and retain KCKPS employees. Additionally, this position will collaborate throughout the school district to support ongoing retention campaigns that will assist Human Resources to effectively retain employees through enhanced communication systems. Experience will include social or digital marketing, brand awareness and recruitment and retention lead generation through the Human Resource department.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support all recruitment and retention practices through an equity lens and dedication to increasing the diversity of our staff population to enhance Human Resources ability to recruit, hire, and retain diverse employees.
  • Enhance the overall student teaching experience in the district and serve as an advisor regarding the district’s hiring process.
  • Collect and analyze recruitment, retention, and employee turnover data; identify trends and gaps.
  • Assist in developing and conducting "stay" interviews towards the goal of strengthening employee retention strategies
  • Conducts offboarding interviews with resigning or retiring employees, tracking reasons for voluntary separations to inform HR recruitment and retention strategies
  • Assist interested current employees with developing career pathways to enhance their ability to be considered for future jobs throughout the school district.
  • Research, develop, and support retention initiatives through active marketing and branding experiences.
  • Develop and implement ideas for creative marketing campaigns for KCKPS Human Resources district programs and services using print, radio, billboards, website features, videos, and other forms of media for recruiting and positive imaging of the district. (e.g. university job boards, Linked, and diverse technology)
  • Ability to utilize software that supports social media, marketing, and communication platforms such as audio, video editing, mobile, and database tools.
  • Co-coordinate the school district’s “social media” sites including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Collaborate with the internal communications department to coordinate brand awareness and marketing efforts.
  • Support all recruitment and career fairs, including local, state-wide, and national colleges and universities as well as district-hosted job fairs.
  • Assist the HR staff and recruitment team in developing a pipeline of qualified candidates by working closely with administrators such as principals, directors, supervisors, in determining personnel needs to fill vacancies.
  • Assist and advise all prospective employees regarding job postings, background information about the school district, and the interview and hiring procedures utilizing all relevant communication systems to raise awareness of the recruitment processes.
  • Analyze data to determine marketing campaign efficiency.
  • Assists with orientations.
  • Complete other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any related field.
  • Two plus years of experience in human resources generalist or specialist, social media campaigns, or marketing skills is preferred but not required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in audio, visual, video, marketing, and communications software to represent Human Resources branding and message components within a school district. Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education.
  • Current or previous certified teacher.

COMMUNICATION / ORGANIZATION: Maintains communication with internal and external stakeholders such as Board of Education, Educational Agencies, Federal/State/Local agencies, teachers, other school personnel, parents/guardians, businesses, and community to enhance cooperative action which will meet the educational needs of students. Compiles data for statistical purposes. Maintains confidentiality regarding district records. Ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication. Includes giving instructions, assignments, or directions to subordinates or assistants as needed to carry out duties.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural, or composite characteristics of data, people, or things.

Ability is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate to significant.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 231 days

SALARY: $65,285.18 - $78,021.84

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

REPORT TO: Associate Superintendent of Human Resources

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with Board of Education policy.
