HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
HFH, Inc., is searching for a dynamic, operations-minded, and customer service-oriented Human Resources Manager to join their expanding team! Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this exciting role involves working closely with directors across all sites and offices, managing a three-person HR team, and supporting and developing HFH’s valued employees.
As the Human Resources Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the HR department, including recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, employee engagement and training, benefits and leave, and performance reviews. This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in the core of HFH’s mission-driven operation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring the effective day-to-day operations of Human Resources and people management functions, which includes managing an HR Generalist, an HR Associate, and an HR Recruiter.
- Managing recruiting for all HFH and affiliate departments, which includes onboarding and new hire orientations and related trainings, as well as coaching hiring managers in our field sites to effectively identify talent gaps, and partner on staffing plans.
- Ensuring an effective onboarding of new hires into the organization that corresponds with company standards, collaborating between HR, IT, Finance and Office Services.
- Administering benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence (FMLA/PLF/STD), and employee assistance.
- Ensuring the prompt and thorough processing of all necessary fingerprinting and background checks.
- Providing guidance on employee relations issues including performance management, terminations, harassment/discrimination investigations and other policy related issues.
- Coordinating training programs for staff, including but not limited to, company policies and procedures, company benefits/open enrollment, legally required trainings, professional development and continuing education, and CPR and First Aid.
- Maintaining the company’s HRIS homepage/portal (ADP WFN), including relevant updates on policies, procedures, benefits, and forms.
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, and staying abreast of NYC Justice Center and Department of Labor laws.
- Nurturing a positive working environment; promote and model organizational values and behaviors.
- Innovating efficiencies in workflows and procedures, including a focus on digitization and maximizing the effectiveness of HFH's HRIS system.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of Human Resources and/or relevant managerial experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of various HR online platforms (including ADP Workforce Now)
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Strong team player.
Preferred Skills:
- Project management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word and Excel) and accounting software (experience with Abila MIP is a plus)
- Familiarity with recruitment tools such as applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, Glassdoor, and Indeed.
- SHRM or HRCI certifications.

SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE (80k-90k)
