The Human Resources division at The University of Texas at El Paso strives to be a model of excellence in providing services to the administration and employees of the University of Texas at El Paso through trust, respect, integrity, and credibility.

Provide training and development activities to employees across campus by assessing training needs and objectives, implementing operational, and/or specialty training events and programs, while consulting and collaborating with departments.

Essential Functions


Audits and processes data daily from the HRIS database.

Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all records and information processed through the Human Resources Department; must prioritize and manage time to provide accurate and timely completion of work.

Provides support in researching and resolving problems to the faculty and staff of the university but also provide support to the UTEP Human Resources Office.

Writes, maintains, and supports a variety of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools; assists in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.

Responsible for collecting and organizing data from multiple internal systems; research discrepancies and reports recommendations and resolutions to immediate management.

Provides administration, research, data analysis, reporting, and communication for benefit plans and special projects utilizing analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Monitors and reconciles data between PeopleSoft and Benefitfocus system to ensure accuracy across all platforms.

Serves as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders; may provide overall project management for a given HR initiative.

Maintains awareness of current trends with a focus on product and service development; delivery and support and applying key technologies. Examines trends in information systems training materials and techniques; through classes reading, or other mechanisms to continuously increase knowledge

Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of other integrated systems, being able to learn and use institutional software systems; proven experience with PeopleSoft is preferred.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Education required: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university within area of assigned responsibility.

Minimum Experience required: Two years related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Proven success in fields or disciplines related to bookkeeping, accounting, and/or data management. Experience related to the principles and theories of Human Resources.


Preferred Qualifications


Seven years of experience in adult learning, performance measurement, and needs assessment, proven record of advanced written and verbal communication skills, bilingual (English/Spanish).
