As a HVAC and Plumbing Estimator, you will be a vital member of Murphy’s Preconstruction team. You will be responsible for preparing high quality estimates and proposals for our customers. We are looking for you to be a part of our get work initiative by estimating plumbing, sheet metal, hydronic, and process piping systems.

• Managing simultaneous subcontractor and equipment quotes and understanding construction field conditions and project schedules
• Utilizing Quickpen for take-offs, and working in Excel and BlueBeam for each bid estimate
• Determining crew size and productivity rates for performing mechanical construction tasks
• Compiling summaries of materials, equipment, and labor
• Working collaboratively with the Estimating staff, Preconstruction staff, as well as the Purchasing Department, and be the liaison between Estimating and Field Operations, for pre-bid and post-bid review and project turnovers

• 5-10 years of HVAC and/or Plumbing experience in the construction field
• Strong background in Trimble Autobid (Quickpen), Excel, and On-Screen Takeoff
• Ability to commit to and meet deadlines while having to multi-task with changing priorities
• Experience with managing multiple projects
• Strong skills in reading and understanding drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment
• A strong background in plumbing, HVAC piping, ductwork, building systems, and codes within commercial, institutional, and light industrial buildings
