REQUIRED:
- Confidence and comfortability in speaking and interacting directly with clients.
- 5+ years of high-level Accounting and Bookkeeping Experience working with several different types of PUBLIC CHARITY nonprofits.
- Minimum 5 Years of experience with double-entry bookkeeping (Ideally certified QB ProAdvisor).
- Deep working knowledge of Payroll.
- Deep working knowledge of AR and AP.
- Deeply understand industry software and enjoy leveraging technology to make work more efficient (Tax Software, Workflow Tools, Client Management tools, etc.).
- Some basic knowledge of tax preparation and how accounting numbers flow into a tax return.
- Experience leading a team and managing direct reports.
ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD INCLUDE:
- Evaluation of the client’s business to advise how the client’s accounting should be structured.
- Create and document an architecture for client setup structures across all tools and supervise the Accounting Support’s implementation of that structure.
- Manage Nonprofit Specific Setup.
- Handle New Business Strategy for proper Accounting Setup (which Internal Reports will be valuable and how do we match that across all tools).
- Meet with the client regularly to ensure numbers are aligned with reality.
- Provide data to the Tax Prep Dept. and/or Advisory Department to flag potential planning opportunities.
- Manage Bill/Pay and receivables and set expectations with the client.
- Provide client training to clients who need help getting going on 3rd party technologies.
- Manage On-Going Reporting and Client Review Meetings (50+ Clients - currently approx. 35)
- Manage 3rd Party Tech to make sure all client functions are happening properly.
- Ensure Sales Tax and Payroll Tax is functioning properly through company accounts.
- Handling of monthly bookkeeping, payroll, and A/P processing for client roster at the beginning, while growing the department and eventually managing the Accounting Support Team Members and Coaching and supporting them through accounting tasks.
