We are currently looking for motivated individuals who want to join our team and participate in the Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Apprentice program. No experience is needed!

As an entry-level industrial manufacturing technician, you’ll operate industrial production-related equipment, work with manufacturing-related tools and perform work processes related to a wide variety of manufacturing settings. As an apprentice, you’ll learn to set up, operate, monitor and control production equipment, as well as, help improve manufacturing processes and schedules to meet customer requirements. This apprenticeship-training program through FVTC requires you to first be employed so you can get the most out of on-the-job learning with related instruction in a classroom. When you complete the program, you’ll be ready for journey-level work.

As an IMT Manufacturing Apprentice you would enroll in the program in either August or January. While in the program you will be a full-time employee of Menasha Packaging and eligible for our competitive benefits and compensation package.

Enjoy 1 week of vacation after 6 months and 2 weeks after 1 year!

Shift Requirements : Rotating 8 hour shifts (3-2-1 rotating) or Rotating 12 hour shifts on a 2,2,3 schedule (rotate every 2 weeks or southern swing)

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Understand job ticket information to determine special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
  • Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
  • Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
  • Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area
  • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
  • Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives

  • Is attentive to detail & accuracy, has good color perception, looks for improvements to work processes and takes advantage of tools & resources, finds root cause to quality problems

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand 8-12 hours
  • Must be able to use hands for grasping product, pushing & pulling skids of product using manual pallet jack, reaching above shoulder height at times to remove items from shelving units
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, walking, and climbing stairs of press

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $24.00 per hour
