About

I have an immediate need for an in-home 11th grade Chemistry tutor in Monroeville. The student also needs a history tutor but Chemistry is the priority. The student is in the 11th grade attending Gateway High School and needs assistance from a tutor for his Chemistry class.

He has an IEP and has fallen behind, so he would benefit from working with a tutor who can provide a better understanding of the concepts, especially as it relates to problem solving in math and science, like chemical equations and formulas. Apparently he is reading at an 8th grade level, so if we could improve his reading comprehension, especially as it relates to providing summaries and writing essays, that would also be helpful.

The goals are simply to improve his grades, to better prepare him for 12th grade, and to keep him eligible for playing football.

The family wants 1.5 hour sessions 2 times a week. They are available Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 7pm-9pm as well as Monday and Friday from 3:30pm-9pm.

Job Requirements

• Tutor must be willing to work in-person at the student's home in Monroeville near Bellwood Park.
• Minimal travel required to meet with student (you decide the distance you are willing to travel, typically 5-10 miles)

Student Availability

MON, WED, THURS 7pm-9pm

TUE, FRI 3:30pm-9pm
