• Job Background:

RECON is hiring industrial maintenance mechanics to join our team in the Salt Lake City metro area.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on pumps, motors, crushers, mills, valves, conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, drag chains and chutes; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot and identify problems by observing operation of equipment; listen/observe for issues
• Remove and replace worn or defective parts as schedule and/or required
• Perform routine adjustments and inspections on operating equipment, tracking wear and/or damage and identifying items to be replaced.
• Develop and maintain technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing technical documentation and/or manufacturer info and interfacing with others.
• Operate mobile equipment including forklifts, man lifts and scissor lifts to access and perform work.
• Perform work in a safe, professional manner, observing proper housekeeping, isolation, permitting and general safety practices and protocols.

Qualifications:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS – Must be able to lift 50 lbs in order to install, remove and maintain machine components. Must be able to ascend and descend ladders and stairs to access maintenance areas. Must have good vision [corrected or uncorrected] in order to perform work with hand tools. Must be able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces as need arises, in accordance with OSHA standards. RECON maintains a Drug Free Workplace. As such, all potential employees will be required to successfully pass a 9-panel drug screen and will be subject to random testing thereafter.

HARD SKILL REQUIREMENTS – must be 20 years of age [site requirement]; multiple years of industrial work experience preferred; mechanical maintenance skills and work history required; NCCER, NCCCO, lube technician/NORIA, welding, rigging and/or mobile equipment operation certifications a plus; some daily data entry work on a computer is required (will train); high school diploma or equivalent.

SOFT SKILL REQUIREMENTS – punctuality and reliability are required; attention to detail; ability to take direction and work within a team structure

COMPENSATION: Mid-$20s to $40/hr, depending on experience, skills and qualifications.
