Overview:
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the general direction of the Manager of Informatics & Analytics or designee, the Informatics & Analytics Business Analyst II plans, organizes, administers, and directs Finance and Time and Labor systems and functions with active participation in application support; including the analysis of user needs, administration of system security, testing of system enhancements, upgrades, problem resolution, adapting existing applications/databases to new technology and report writing.
Responsibilities:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide daily operational support for PeopleSoft modules
  • Responsible for table maintenance and security within PeopleSoft
  • Responsible for table maintenance and security within BuyWays and other UMass/UMMS systems
  • Responsible for maintaining the UMMS security contact list and working with contacts daily to process new users, inactivations and other requests
  • Responsible for leading the annual audit and collecting/processing responses from security contacts in a timely manner
  • Assist with system upgrades and testing
  • Assist in scoping out new projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate with peers across all UMass campuses in Core working groups to discuss system upgrades, share knowledge and present existing hardships/roadblocks for discussion
  • Participate in new projects through business process design, testing and implementation
  • Support HR and Finance staff for system issues
  • Provide liaison support between functional end users. Assists in the development of functional specifications that articulate clearly and completely deliverables consistent with user expectations and vendor/third party needs
  • Design user training materials and deliver training sessions
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or equivalent experience
    • Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems operations, business procedures, and relational databases and reporting tools.
    • 5 - 7 years of related experience
    • Must possess strong attention to detail
    • Knowledge of ERP systems and query writing
    • Conceptual and analytical skills to develop solutions and recommendations
    • High knowledge of Excel as well as other Microsoft products
    • Communication skills, both oral and written, necessary to interact with all organizational levels within and outside the Medical School
