This position is in the Office of the Executive Director for the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs (EB) and the Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR). The Executive Office (EB/ENR/EX) is responsible for providing policy development support and resource management direction to the Bureaus’ Assistant Secretaries and senior managers.

Duties
Serves as the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) responsible for cybersecurity of the bureau's information assurance program, systems integrity auditing, and cyber security policy implementation.
Assesses and coordinates the evaluation of IT and business process improvement/re-engineering procedures, policies, reporting, and implementation of projects such as Bloomberg and Haver.
Maintains system components such as, installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software; establishing and managing user accounts.
Applies internal control measures to protect organizational integrity and prevent unauthorized use or misappropriation of sensitive and classified material; reports instances of security violations/problems.
Represents the Bureau on committees and working groups and at meetings and conferences. Performs a variety of special assignments, projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.

Applicants applying for the GS-13 grade level must meet the following requirements: Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND specialized experience listed below:

1. Attention to Detail- Demonstrates expert level of attention to detail in conducting security risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed systems to identify security issues and vulnerabilities.
2. Customer Service - Demonstrates expert skill in working with managers and customers at all levels throughout the Bureau and Department to resolve IT security issues,
3. Oral Communication - Provides expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT issues.
4. Problem Solving - Demonstrates expert knowledge of IT security requirements and standards to review and resolve complex IT security risks and vulnerabilities

AND Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout an agency.
Experience preparing and presenting briefings to senior management officials on complex /controversial issues.

NOTE: In order to qualify for this position, your experience MUST be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
