Job Description: Inside Sales Representative
Department: Sales Department
Market: Steel Manufacturer
General Function: The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for maintaining, cultivating and servicing new and existing accounts primarily utilizing telephone and electronic communication with limited travel required.
Skills and Prerequisites: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on sales and customer service responsibilities. Individual must possess excellent and proven leadership skills, a high degree of organization, problem solving, and effective communication skill to interact with employees, customers and other professionals.
Reporting Requirements: The Inside Sale Representative will report directly to the Director Commercial.
Description of Responsibilities:
1. Respond to customer requests regarding delivery, pricing, and quality in a professional manner.
2. Coordinate and communicate with Director Commercial an all relevant customer requests and issues.
3. Prepare customer orders for entry in the sales system.
4. Promptly respond to customer problems, claims and dispute resolution.
5. Report market intelligence and competitor activity.
6. Service the customer base by managing orders through the entire sales cycle.
7. Advance the inquiry follow up activities for improved order results and market knowledge.
8. Manage sales activity for the assigned customer territory.
9. Participate in annual corporate Business Plan development.
10. Establish sales revenue goals and monitor sales activity.
11. Arrange outbound freight (LTL & TL) including BOL’s.
12. Work with Operations to prioritize scheduling.
13. Coordinate customer credit limits concerning Pre-pay and COD accounts.
14. Participate in a training program to understand customer specifications and product application.
15. Communicate with the field sales representatives.
16. Travel to visit customers, trade shows, and conventions.
17. Provide backup support to other customer service activities.
18. Monitor customer open orders to ensure on-time delivery performance.
19. Support marketing projects for website, sales literature, and new product development.
20. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain, cultivate, and expand business with new and existing accounts.
- Service Customers by managing orders through the entire sales cycle including: order fulfillment, develop inquiries, propose pricing, arrange transportation, meet delivery schedules, and resolve claims.
- Effectively manage potential issues and with superior service and turn this responsiveness into a competitive advantage.
- Be the customer voice in the organization in order to exceed customers’ expectations.
Experience, Skills and Prerequisites:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a focus on customer service and sales.
- Proven leadership skills with a high degree of organization, problem solving and effective communication skills with fellow employees, customers and other professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Bus. Admin., Engineering, Marketing or Management preferred or equivalent experience. Computer skills required and minimal travel.
