Summary:

The Inspector, Receiving & DHR works with Manufacturing, Quality, and Quality Engineering to continuously improve quality performance ensuring compliance with quality standards. This role performs a variety of visual inspections on product, materials, components, and parts at the DHR station in order to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards. Ensures documentation and procedures follow customer specifications, industry standards and standard operating procedures. Maintain files for device history records (DHR). Review DHR's for completeness and accuracy. The Quality Technician completes first article inspection reports by leveraging strong organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical inspection of raw materials and purchased parts.
  • Verify that data and certificate of conformance provided with purchased parts and materials are accurate and complete.
  • Assure that received parts are from suppliers on the approved supplier list.
  • Document inspection results by completing inspections in Quality Management Software.
  • Maintain inspection results in Quality Management Software.
  • Conduct Device History Record review per established procedures. Review completed work order, and operation documents to ensure entries are complete, accurate, and legible.
  • Assist with gage calibration processes as assigned by supervisor.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision. Follow established queues for order of work to be performed. Meet established standards for productivity and quality. Confer with supervisor when problems arise which impact expected level of performance.

  • Responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance to FDA and ISO13485 Quality Management System.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Assist with other manufacturing operations as needed to meet business needs.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years working in a Manufacturing environment

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with common hand gages such as calipers, micrometer, thread gages, etc.
  • Basic blueprint reading and shop math.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to express concepts effectively.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including, but not limited to, contributing to a team-oriented environment, balancing team and individual responsibilities, and keeping emotions under control.
  • Must have vision acuity of 20/30 or better in either eye and shall be able to read the Jaeger No.2 Eye Chart at 16 in. Natural or corrected vision may be used to achieve eye test requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and communicate with suppliers and all levels of Management

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Operations may required use of safety equipment to include, but not limited to, safety glasses.
  • Working unscheduled overtime as business demands.
